Not sure if my weather or yours would be harder on a pepper plant. At least mine are not outside right now.

WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN COULD SEE SOME FROST EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.
HOW WIDESPREAD THE FROST BECOMES IS HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON HOW MUCH
CLOUD COVER LINGERS OVERNIGHT. IF SKIES DO CLEAR OUT...FROST
DEVELOPMENT WILL BECOME MORE LIKELY. PROTECT SENSITIVE PLANTS OR
TAKE THEM INSIDE TO PROTECT THEM OVERNIGHT.

Stoney: it was 107 here today. Monday, all the peppers got a good soak, Tuesday, all the maters. Everything gets old sheets over them around 11 am and off at 5 pm. Potted peppers are on partial shaded patio. I won't water again for a good couple days, probably more. Mulch is my best ally

Plants are lookin great.
