Peppers discoloring

I have some green hot peppers growing in a pot in yard. Most of the peppers are about 1-2 inches long now. Today I noticed that a few of them have what looks like a brown stain on the side of them. Is this rot or something else? Could they be getting to much sun?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to say without looking at the photo like Stoney mentioned. Could be anything from sunburn, to lack of nutrients, to whatever.

Yes. Pics help. Gonna take a stab though and say they're changing color to red. Just a guess though.

Sunburn, when they ripen it will be gone or almost not visible at all. Does not affect the pepper in any way except for appearance.
