Differences in Cayenne pepper plants

noki

I see for sale various nursery plants called "Cayenne" at local stores.

Some simply just say 'Cayenne Pepper' or
'Hot Cayenne'
'Hot Cayenne Hybrid' (Bonnies has this but doesn't say which hybrid)
'Long Slim Cayenne'
'Cayenne Large' or 'Cayenne Large Thick'

and of course there are dozens of listed varieties also for the more serious.

My question, what do you actually get with these more vague Cayenne? Is one Long Slim from one seller the same as another? Do open pollinated types tend to be rather bastardized? Do you really know what you are getting?

What types have the largest plants? Wimpy plants disappoint me.
