Patience! I have none.

How do you do it? I am a super new pepper gardener and it's killing me waiting for the plants to grow! I got a super late start on growing. I just planted the seeds in mid-May. Here's what some of them look like now:

The first two rows, left to right, are Trinidad Scorpions. Then two rows of Moruga Scorpions, a row of Scotch Bonnets, then more Moruga Scorpions and finally some Bhuts at the far right. The four rows on the left are essentially the same age. The others vary by a few weeks.

I started before you and mine don't even look like that. NorCal Bay Area weather sucks. I had a few as big as yours on the left, and some insects chewed at the lower stem and topped it. At least finish off the plant. Insects didn't even eat the leaves, just chewed at the stem until it toppled over, then left. Ba$tard. They're playing games with me.

Looking good Dave. I'm in the exact same boat as you as far as getting a late start on some super hots (and sweets). Check the "Too small to harden off?" thread to see how well I'm handling it. lol

They look good. Depending on where you live and how long your growing season is, you should be fine. But next year, you probably want to plant a little earlier.
    Good luck,

It's agonizing how slowly they grow....compared to the Thai chiles and the Jalapenos ;-)

Look, you just have to find something else to do. Standing there staring at your plants, taking pictures of your plants, talking about your plants, dreaming about big plants, will make you crazy. (No, drinking as a hobby won't help.)

You could try writing a book. Or pornography. Anything to take your mind off pods.

    P.S. Maybe a self-induced coma?

Dennis.......have you been spying on me again. How did you know I was doing all that with my plants?

Dave.... Your plants look beautiful. Unfortunately you're just going to have to wait.

I think your plants look real good considering the time you started them. The only other choice is to spend extra money and buy plants that are already producing pods. It costs a lot more, but there IS instant gratification. Another benefit, how would you like it if you were to grow those plants all season and then find out like the guy with the chocolate habs, that they produce some pepper than you were expecting. That has happened to me every year with one type or another. I bought some full sized plants this year and was tasting peppers that night! Priceless
