Pest or water damage?

This evening, I found damage to about a dozen leaves per plant on two Padrons that are next to each other, but I didn't see any insects on either side of the leaves. My husband watered yesterday with a sprinkler so they may have gotten beaten up with water though they didn't the last time he watered.
Any idea what caused the damage? I would hate for it to spread to other plants.
