Don't let them Tabascos fool you, they are pretty dang hot ripe or not. I have a 4 foot plant I over wintered and it is going crazy and full of pods (At least 100). As far as stunted peppers being hotter I do not know. I do have a few stunned plants producing pods and they are just as hot as the non-stunted plants.

Bill, could you help me? You have great knowledge around this part of town... I have an overwintered bhut doing great in a 5 gallon pot (would probably be doing better in my raised beds. It seems to never ever dry out in the greenhouse) with 2 1" pods, and close to a hundred blossoms.

I have an overwintered habanero in a 3-4 gallon pot but it was quite small. Is blossoming, but growth completely stunted and it's leaves are all turning yellow instead of deep dark green. Leaves are droopy. It's not doing very well but don't have a pic of it yet. The pot is too wet firstly as I haven't watered them for 3 weeks but it's been raining almost every night and it's humid in the greenhouse. I tried giving it a weak dose of nutrients with no effect. Planted in a semi 5/1/1 mix that may contain more sapwood than I would like. Kind of rushed things and didn't do them as intended due to an injury.

Suggestions? Was thinking of trying to find room in my raised bed seeing as it's small but it's already cramped. Or repotting it and taking more care in sorting out sapwood from pine bark. Would that shock the plant?
