Some of my pods...

Hello all,

I thought I would post some pictures of some of the pods I have on various plants. Thanks to this site and the great members here, I am feeling very successful as a first year pepper grower.

Here is an overwintered Tabasco. This was a store bought pepper from last spring and my very first attempt at pepper growing. All other photos are from seeds from members on this site or seeds I bought from a vendor and sowed on 10 Feb 2013.

Red Devils Tongue. The pod on the top left has two pods growing off of one pod/stem. I think it is pretty cool. Normal for a Devils Tongue?

I bought this from a vendor. It is labeled as a "Caribbean Blend" These things are growing like crazy... Is this a Scotch Bonnet or in the Habanero family?

Impressive, Bill!
You're doing things right. That Tabasco is a monster.
One of my friends ended up with "Bhut" pods just like yours last year. I'll have to ask her the source of those seeds - I think she was calling them "King" Bhut or something else....

Awesome looking plants! That's one heck of a Tabasco plant you got there. Also Caribbean Blend pepper looks to be a Scotch bonnet to me. Great Job! Which pods have you tasted so far?

Wow! I was thinking that tabasco plant was a beast, then as I read through and saw the others, it's like 'damn, they all are'!

Nice job!

Scotch Bonnet / Habanero - I'd also go with Scotch Bonnet, but, the proof is in the smell / taste. :-)

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I am very pleased with my progress. They are all huge in my opinion. Big, bushy and very green and everything I have growing now have pods on them. I am picking Cayenne and Jalapenos daily as they are very prolific.

The only thing I have been able to try/eat (besides Jalapenos and Cayenne) are the Orange Caribbean Blend above. I ate one yesterday and it had a nice aroma, smell was sweet with a fruity smell. Taste was very good, I would say somewhat like a ripe peach. The heat was mild IMO. Maybe slightly hotter than a Habanero but now much hotter.

Yes...im jealous lol! For your first year you are doing very well and every plant seems to be doing great
