Good job...nice looking plants. Hope you have a great harvest.

RE: Habanero Fellow's 2013 Growlog

I am noticing blossom drop.

 o
RE: Habanero Fellow's 2013 Growlog

blossom drop is fairly normal. If the plants look healthy otherwise (which they do from the pics) I wouldn't worry about it.

They are amazing- hope you have a great harvest!

Look nice and happy vermiman. That slope looks like it will definitely help with drainage.

Your bed and plants look great Vermiman.

Is the PVC a drip system? How's that working out for ya?

Also, folks with cinder-block walls sometimes fill up the holes and plant herbs and/or flowers in them. Helps attract beneficials and deter pests. Just a thought.

Keep us posted on your progress.

It's black gold!! It's vermi-tea!! Just part of a weekly treatment.

Nice pepper garden, plants are coming along nicely. That's some crazy looking tea you got going. Is it fish fert in there causing the foamy bubbles or has that been brewing a bit and gasses releasing ?

Only thing that I use for the tea is about 4 cups of strained castings, rain water and molasses. I use a dual hose aquarium air pump, with two stones being placed on opposite sides. I brew the tea for about 24 hours. Sometimes the froth is much taller than that.

RE: Habanero Fellow's 2013 Growlog

Molasses NPK 1-0-5
Worm castings on avg NPK 2-1-1

What does the tea help with with these additives? I never made a tea nor researched it. Is the liquid some how helpful to the micros in the soil when it comes to breaking it down instead of just mixing it into the soil around the plants?

Thanks,
Mark

RE: Habanero Fellow's 2013 Growlog

Even though castings have low NPK values, worm castings provide natures perfect blend of micro and macro nutrients which are available for immediate as well as time released long lasting nutrition.100% organic worm castings will not burn even the most delicate plants.

The benefits of brewing it in a tea? Well it multiplies the beneficial microbes exponentially. Foliar application of this abundant population greatly affects the health of the plants leaves and the plant itself. When applied as a soil drench it greatly benefits the soil ecosystem as well as the plants themselves.
