Shishito? Twist? Wrinkled Old man pepper? Are they hot?

I have absolutely no idea! I don't even know know when it's ripe so I can harvest it.

Could be so many things....

They look a little skinny to be Shishitos.

They look a bit like my immature Hatch chiles.
So, did you purchase the plants or seeds?

It wouldn't hurt to pick one to get a taste of it's heat, but I always let my peppers turn colors before picking, including jalapenos and bells. They taste so much better. A green pepper is an unripened pepper IMO.

I bought them as plants. They are supposed to be thai hot chili peppers.

From what I understand, there are many types of "Thai" chilies.

Monitor the pods for growth. When a pod stops growing, it should have most of the heat and much of the flavor it will have when it is ripe. Then you can pick it and get a good idea of what a ripe pod will be like.

Like Dennis said, lots of Thai varirties. But that's unlike ANY Thai I've seen.

Given the choices available at most nurseries, I'm with Josh on this one -- Anaheim. Also resembles a large Cayenne I grew from Bonnie Plants one time. Either way, looks like you got a mislabeled plant.

Thats what it seems like. Im waiting a few more days to see if it changes colors.

They are indeed shishito peppers, I distinguished them from the tips of the peppers. Also they are not spicy at all!
