ghost pepper

This is my first time growing the ghost pepper and I planted them in may. So far pretty good. I have over 20 peppers on one tree. I planted them in miracle grow gardening soil only. BUT one tree is having huge leaves on the bottom. And the other one is growing evenly. So my question is if I should cut them off to yield more peppers or is it draining to much nutrients from the soil. Thx in advance
