Progress update...

Well, first I must say that the FL weather is a blessing for peppers. I honestly have more than I can handle (or than the fianc will let me stuff the chest freezer with). After giving away countless peppers to those around me, I have now just started to sell small batches of the as well. I've got enough to make hot sauce for years to come with this years crop, and don't want more going to waste. Many of my coworkers are are of Indian descent and from island territories, and love that I bring in about a pound of peppers a week for them. Plastic grocery bags filled with peppers are gone in about 30 min from the break room when I take them in. It's quite rewarding.

Well, here we stand. Here's a few shots of what the ole pepper field looks like as of this AM:

One of 2 late started Takunatsume:

One of two Fresno (my favorite of the year):

One of 4 reapers (of which a local is buying over 200 peppers from later today - I can't even imagine the pain from the sauce she will make with these!)

A lone Naga strain which is a heavy producer:

And a shot of all 16 in the field, basking in the morning FL sun:

Jay
