Congrats. There's no feeling like finally seeing a pod come full circle. It's a long process, but well worth the wait!

Thank you Tim. I actully a couple days before I noticed these pulled the "put a piece of apple in a brown paper bag with some peppers" trick. The reaper I picked started the change overnight. i used it in some nachos I made last night.

lucky you. i have been waiting for my hungarians to turn red so i can get some seeds. really frustrating. the north is not easy to grow peppers. have 15 green bell pepper plants and one popcorn size pepper. the rest are flowers ready to set. bells were seed and hungarian were bought plants. very little time left for peppers to grow. tomatos same a lot of flowers but few tomatos. going to have a lot of green tomatos i guess. count your blessings good luck aki.

I hear you. The only plants I have that have any peppers were started 2-3 years ago. I have two yellow ghosts I started last fall that are just now putting some flowers outs. Yhat said my 3 year old Habs are putting out a bumber crop. the pods though are all still green.

Andy, just so you know, peppers don't respond to ethylene ripening the way tomatoes do, so spare yourself the effort. A pepper has either begun the ripening process or it hasn't. If the signal to ripen has gone to the pod, then the pepper will finish coloring on the counter without any help needed.
