Cayenne pod turning yellow???

J T

I have 6 cayenne plants with pods just starting to ripen and turn red, but I noticed that one pod is turning yellow. The color starts at the tip and goes about halfway up the pod and it looks like what you would see when a leaf starts to turn a pale greenish-yellow. The rest of the plant looks great with many dark green, full, healthy looking pods. Is occasional yellowing normal? Will that pod "recover"? Or should it be removed to keep something from spreading to the rest of the plants and pods or even just to keep the plant from wasting energy on a pod that won't make it anyway? Its only one pod, and I don't expect a shortage if I remove it, but I'm curious about what's going on.
