Trim it well back so that there few or no leaves demanding water from non-existent roots, dip the end in rooting hormone (cheap at any garden store) and place in water or damp soil. If the broken part is large, you might want to chop it up into smaller pieces so you have several chances.

As Dennis said, I had a big branch break off and snipped it into 4 smaller pieces leaving only a few leaves at the top of each. I cut the pieces at a node point dipped in hormone and placed in solo cups of water. They are now just starting to show signs of root growth been about 3 weeks so far. But are doing fine a couple have even started producing buds. Good luck.
