Amount of seeds per pod on super hots

I have been careful on my bhut jolokia and trinidad scorpions to make sure they haven't been cross pollinated.

That said, I was very excited to obtain the seeds from the first few trinidad scorp peppers that I picked. I waited until they were super ripe and almost ready to fall off on their own. To my dismay, they each had ONE seed per pod. Is this typical for these varieties??? Did I do something wrong?

Some of my other peppers that are rather large in size all seem to be lacking an acceptable amount of seeds (Serrano, anaheim etc), yet the tiny peppers have a ton (way more than I thought would fit in there).

In comparison, I have a Thai hot that ended up being the ornamental variety (I am assuming since the pods are tiny, almost the size of a bean) and those have a ton of seeds each (20-30).
