Japanese Beetles are back

They arrived all at once about two or three days ago and they are here with a vengeance. They like to munch on the Pepper plants but really have a sweet tooth for my crab apple trees an Zinnias. It looks like this could be a bad year for them.

This photo was on a pepper plant leaf. If you look close, you can almost see his bib along with his knife and fork as he prepares to start feasting.

Here in Southern Kentucky, I have filled 4 bags on the trap already!!! I saw the first beetle on 6-13. They are not as hungry this year, I only have them damaging a cherry tree, and several of the Aronia berries. They are not getting the roses this year.

Yah, I have a rose bush and haven't seen one on there yet...where I normally do. They are attacking a container of Zinnias however...And of course they are swarming the new growth on the Crab Apple trees. They suck.
It looks like it took an extra two weeks to get up this far north. I don't have traps. I figure it is like bailing out a boat with a dixie cup.
