Might be a fruit worm cocoon.... Shouldn't have very many, I had only one burrow into a pod a few weeks ago. Cut open the pod and the caterpiller type worm was just hanging out in there, only one I have found. I believe they turn into a type of moth.

I've noticed them a few times here in FL. They resemble the end piece that holds together pine tree needles. But then there is a little hole in the end where the animal pops out of. If you watch them, they almost move around like a hermit crab, with that part being the "shell."

Google adult pics of both. Fruit worms are moths. Weevils are, well, weevil looking.

Don't know what it is but I've had a couple similar looking things here. Check other pods for holes and remove any that have them. You're plants will be fine. They go after individual pods.
