Hot Bells of Fire

This is a bell pepper that was probably crossed with a jalepeno. Some were hot some were not on last year's crop. I saved seeds from one of the hot ones and I have picked two so far this season. Both were quite hot. The green pepper could barely be tasted. Leaves a tingle in your mouth. Much hotter than a pablano.

That's cool, is the flavor much better than what bell's put off? Will you let any go to red? Then test the heat when they are ripe.

In general I don't care much for regular green bell but I like red very much. On the other hand the bells of fire are tasty green and delicious red.,I had a few last year when ripe and can tell you they seemed to lose a little heat when ripe. It was funny because last yr it took me a while to figure out that a cross pol had taken place as some were hot and some were not.

I can eat the green bell of fire straight up. It leaves a very noticeable tingle on the tongue and lips.
