Hi,

In your opinion whats the best pepper to grow for a lemon/citrus flavor? Ive tried to grow hot lemon pepper seeds but they have never sprouted.

Thanks,

Dave

I really like Lemon Drop. It's Jalapeno- serrano heat. First thing you notice is a lemon flavor, then the heat hits.
Wonderful pepper, great in salsa.

My favorite is the Limo chile. Its a good grower, about as hot as a low end hab, but great citrus flavor (article below). I tried to grow aji amarillo this year but no luck. The aji amarillo paste I have tried is perfect for citrus-heat. I'm growing Limon this year, but this plant is a lot slower than i thought it would be.
Another pep i'm growing this year is the Datil from Florida. I've yet to try one but they are also supposed to have great lemony sweetness with some serious heat. I can't wait.

I also like the Lemon Drop. I haven't tried many citrusy peppers, but, I don't think you'll go wrong with it.

I am growing Aji Chinchi Amarillo for the first time this year. It reminds me a lot of the Lemon Drop, but, a slightly different flavor a little less citrus.

I believe Lemon Drop is the same as Aji Lemon, but, not completely certain. Seems there is some confusion over several names and whether they are the same exact pepper or slightly different variations.

Speaking of lemony peppers, any that are more in the medium to low heat that you would recommend?
