The future of this plant

What can I do with this plant? Is it doomed? It just started dropping leaves for no detectable reason. No attacks by pests, it just seems to be closing up shop.

You can see some fruit still has survived on it, albeit they are little shrimpy things apart from one. This is its second year.

I brought it back into the conservatory, I have the plants outside during the warmer months

Can you pop it out of the pot and take a look at the roots?

Yes I can, in fact I was thinking of moving it into a larger pot anyway, the one it is in is small. But another plant I had was in one even smaller and it seems ok. Apart from an odd leaf with yellowish hue, brownish one, curly, etc.

I usually don't get too anxious about one or two leaves looking poorly, unless it looks like the condition is spreading. But when they just drop off after looking fresh and shiny-ish only days before - then I get concerned.

Can it be saved if there is a root problem going on?
