I have never seen splitting on the leaves like that (haven't been at it long) and, its hard to tell if the color is accurate from the photos. It seems in my experience too much water creates a yellow tint, starting with the lower foliage. Are they dropping leaves? were the pics taken in full sun? if so take some when the shade is in effect.

I am guess the damage originated from a pest.
