Centipedes in my plants - Good or bad?

Today while looking at my freshly replanted ghost, I noticed two things.
1- 7 new baby peppers
2- about 10 centipedes roaming around the soil
Are these critters beneficial? Are they doing any harm?
If so, what should I use to rid of them?
