I am trying to dry out some poblano seeds for next season...just the same way I do every other pepper..scraping them out and placing them on a paper plate. They keep turning brown and they look horrible. Is this characteristic of Poblano? Will they still sprout?

My guess would be no. Poblano seeds I have purchased look just like most any other pepper seed.

Are the peppers you are taking the seeds from red?

Maybe you could wash / sanitize the seeds before drying?

Nope! i thought they stayed green...haven't picked a red one yet..I guess that explains my gaff!

It takes them forever to turn red, but, they will eventually - assuming you don't run out of gardening season. :-)
