looks like a habanero

Cool! I was hoping I'd get at least 1 habanero. Are the plants supposed to be that small? It's maybe like 6 inches tall. But it was kind of crappy year here. First it rained every day for like 3 months, and now it's been 100 degrees.

they should definitely be bigger than that. 2-3 ft is a nice happy norm, but there are many factors involved. "should" is a funny word when it comes to plants, as I've come to find out.

I have a serrano that can't be more than a foot tall, if that, and I'm getting a ton of peppers from it. many will grow over 4ft. I've got a badly stunted tabasco that will probably never clear the 12" mark, but I've gotten hundreds of peppers from it.

at least you'll know you can get at least one pepper off it. better than nothing.

Looks sorta like a hab at this point.

I don't know where you live, but a 6 inch hab plant at this time of the season is either stunted or very young. You may have to give up on it at this point.

Or... if you have a long season, you may want to nip any peppers and buds NOW so the plant goes back into a vegetative state.

You may have to give up on THIS plant. But, like i said, if you have many months until frost, let it go. You just might be able to get something out of it.

The leaves look more like C.annuum than C.chinense, but the plant looks massively stressed so hard to tell.
