pepper I.D.; replanting suggestions

Aloha,

Well, following the - I never saw a pepper I didn't like syndrome - I purchased this pepper today. As usual there was no name but the description said "very prolific, this bell-shaped pepper is about as hot as a jalapeno". The plant is ~ 3' high and probably a little pot bound.

So my first question is has anyone seen a pepper with this shape? It usually has two or three distinct lobes at the base and a convex knob in the center of the base. It's about 2" long.

My second question is what's the best way to replant this thing without killing it? Cut off all the fruit? Wait until the fruit ripens and then plant? Looking forward to the group's suggestions.
