You left them whole that would be an issue all that capsaicin sealed inside, if any got out it would be so little you would not really notice, should have slit them or cut them in rings or in slices. Since you opened I would get the peppers and slit them and place them back in the jar. Let it sit a few days a d that should heat up the jar.
