First year, first harvest.

First of all, thank you everyone that posts here in the forum and especially to those that have chimed in when I have had questions. After several weeks of being orange I decided to pick my mini pumpkins and while carving the jack o lantern I was very pleased that they developed a nice med heat and have an almost peach flavor. The others are hot banana, super chili (pequin?) And an unknown green one.

I still have a lot of super chilis turning red, a handfull of red bhuts a couple Caribbean reds, Trinidad morugas and a lot more hot banana coming in.

Grasshoppers have destroyed at least twice as much as shown above, but I have learned so much and hope to put that knowledge to good use next year.

Now that you have the chile growing bug, welcome to the elite group that spends the winter selecting varieties and planning next season ;-)

Nice job, David. Yep.. next season start indoors a good 3 or more months before transplant for your chinense and a good 2 months or more for your annuums.

Well it's kinda a small harvest but you learned a lot. Grasshoppers, man glad i don't have them! I had about a dozen peppers with small holes, but peppers were OK? Nothing inside? Not sure what did it? I harvested a lot so no big deal.

Thanks everyone, sorry for the late response. I have been out of wi-fi range for a few days. Ah!! Warm fuzzies n bunnies.

Woohooman, I had most of my peppers started pretty early, main issue was the learning curve, I replanted some due to lack of sun and some I planted in inadequate soil others were just late additions in the name of learning, now I know what areas get ample sun and have a good idea of what soils to use.

Growing em is as addictive as eating them, maybe not the best for my OCD ;-)
