what's wrong with my plant? new growth shriveled

For the past several weeks this pants growth has been stunned and new vegetation has been extremely shriveled. Any idea what could be wrong? The three other plants next to it are doing fine.

The plant did come into contact with a pumpkin vine that had contacted some kind of mosaic virus. Could this be the culprit?

The other plants are already fruiting, so at this point I think I am going to just remove this plant all together, unless anyone thinks I should wait?

Possibilities include virus, mites, and herbicide.

I can definitely rule out herbicide b/c we don't use any. There are also no mites here as I have checked under the leaves of all the plants. So I suppose I will go with virus contracted via pumpkin vine (although I find that odd).

Whatever it is, it looks like the plant isn't going to grow very much anymore so I guess I'll just get rid of it.

Lets be realistic.
Unless you want to learn something here , but there is no reasonable hope for that planT to produce anything, even if you manage to turn it around. I don't know where you are, Fall is upon us over most of the US, even as far down as parts of GA, TX,..

SO I WOULD SAY , GO AHEAD REMOVE IT !
