Nice find. I imagine that thing is root bound pretty bad. I'd get it out of that pot and into some fresh soil. You might be able to let it get a few days of sun before over wintering it.

I made some salsa last night with the three pods. Really nice flavor and packs some heat but just right IMO. Recommend :-)

Try making some powder out of those! It is luscious. Mello heat and that smoky taste you get from chocolates, but not intense like you would get with Douglahs. It's like the mello scotch, or the mello cigar of chocolates.

On over wintering, I have read here last year that actually they top prune, root prune and re pot into smaller pot, to make it more manageable. I might do that with my Manzano. I am also trying root a few to over winter in small pots.

Thanks guys! It's was pretty root bound in that small pot so I put it in some pro-mix and plan on pruning it back a bit for the winter. Doesn't get too cold here in So Cal so I'll just move out of the rain if we ever get any ever again :-)
