Nice. I found about 6of those mixed in the Orange habs at sweetbay a while back. There are quite a few variations of the chocolate hab. Senegal, jamacian, guadalupe, and the list goes on. No telling which it could be or may have even been a mutation in a large field of orange habs. Most produce you buy in grocery stores here in fla comes from south america anyways.

LOL it was at a sweetbay where I found it. having looked at a bunch of pics, it does not look like the jamaican hot chocolate, especially since those are supposed to be smaller than a normal hab, and this one is enormous, far larger than my orange habs. the descriptions on thehotpepper refer to the normal choc hab as the st bernard of habs, leading me to think that's what this one is. it's also quite wrinkly like a normal choc hab. gonna eat it with my lunch today, maybe flavor will be an indication (not only an indication of what it is, but also whether to grow it next year). maybe next year I'll make some brown hot sauce. that oughta look appetizing.

They have a ton of these at my local food lion. Methinks I'll be buying a few of these today just for giggles

Follow up....just bought 10 of these for $0.62 (that includes tax) can't wait to taste them and try to get some seed out of them.

Judo, I know you got the one mystery brown pepper, so not to put all your seeds in one pot, would you like some chocolate habanero seeds as a backup incase those don't germinate? If so shoot me an email and I will send them out to you.
