Are you sure those are peppers ?

yeah I'm pretty sure those are tomatoes in the pic. if those things are hot, keep the seeds.

If you grew jalapeno next to the bell pepper last year and replanted the seeds from the bell this year then yes it would be possible to find some bell peppers with some heat. If you just have them next to each other the peppers would not be hot in the same year as the trait for heat would be in the seeds and affect the next generation. You could have receive a cross this year so it's possible your jalapeno had nothing to do with it. Also post pics of your bell peppers. Looks like we got your tomato pic.

This can't, won't, and didn't happen. If some of the bells are "hot", there is some other logical explination... like some oil from a jalapeno got on them when you were cutting them up or something...

seriously though, what would it take to get a hot tomato? I keep thinking back to that thread about graft hybrids...

OK, sorry. I tried to remove my "boasting": Box Car Willie tomato picture before posting. Guess not.

Anyways, in checking my pepper containers that i kept, I have found that i didn't plant bells but rather poblanos. Crazy, I always plant bells!

Sorry for the post. I'm going to crawl into a hole and stick with tomatoes!
