I don't think they are habs.

The big one look like Poblano to me. Or some other Mexican pepper that dries dark brown and mostly are used as dry.

I dont think they are banana pepper either. Banana turns red from pale green.

Let me ask you this : What amount of heat they have ? This can help to identify them better.

There's virtually no way to know what you have. There are just too many peppers to know for sure.

The chocolate habs I grew were not as citrus smelling as orange habs but were noticeably hotter. They were not shaped like that, either. But, there are quite a few chocolate hab varieties out there.

In any case, if you like them, that's what counts. If you were looking to trade seeds, I might call it a chocolate hab cross or mix. Something to indicate that you're not really sure what it is. Also, I'm assuming that it does have hab or greater heat and burn.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I was not sure how many varieties of peppers were considered "chocolate". I'm guessing it is some type of hybrid. I have not tried one yet, but I'm hoping they have the heat equivalent to a hab.

Any suggestions on a reputable place to get hot pepper seeds that will actually be what they are advertised to be?

What kind of seeds are you interested in ?
Post them here, chances are the somebody might have and be willing to send you som. I am sure there are reputable internet seed stores. I got most of mine from fresh peppers bought from FARMERS MARKET and store and one was given by a member from this forum. Then with these seeds I am taking a chance. Not guaranteed to be true. But I am not worried. Cross pollination in peppers is not very high.
