I dont think this pepper came from Roaton Honduras since the only one native to that region would be the Roatan Pumpkin Habanero, and this is not it.

Hard to say what it is but there are many varities that are simular in shape and size.

Did your friend give you pods only or do you have pictures of the flowers or plant?

Now that you mentioned, they look like some kind of pumpkin. Some of them more than others. Also have resemblance to Habs.

He has the plant. I've called and requested photos and if he has any photos of flowers, or at different times of the current year.

Kind of looks like Rainforest Chili a little bit.

Not really sure what it is just yet but these pictures help us out a little bit more.

Just be aware we may never really know. If you really like it, it does not really matter what it is. Just grow it and enjoy.
