Leaf miner. I have the same problem.

Pull the spiral leaves off and dispose of them.

Wow, that looks like it's spot-on. Thank you. I have a lot of affected leaves, but not a majority... I will be cutting these off in the morning.

Some leaves are affected only at the edges. Do you think it's better just to cut off the edge and leave the rest of the leaf intact?

I think you should remove them all, but it is up to you basing it on how the leaf looks.

I tried to pull all of mine, but I can never find them all. With the weather cooling down, hopefully it will slow or kill those bugs.

Yep. Leafminers. They're pretty bad this year in SoCal. But they're generally a cosmetic issue, like ronny said. Squishing them is probably more prudent on say, a seedling, but on a full grown plant, you can probably afford to clip the leaves whole.
