Judy at Pepperlover sells a red fatalii that looks very much like your picture. She adds this: "This is the red version of the well-known brutally hot Yellow Fatalii. We believe this one is a result of natural mutation where yellow colored Fatalii started producing red pods and seeds have been shared among growers⦠This pepper is extremely hot just like the yellow if not more."

I grew Fataliis this year from seed taken from Red Fatalli pods. Half of the plants produced Red Pods and the other half Yellow. Just not stable yet.... IMO... The pods looked the same with the exception of the color..

KC, that is like hitting 2 birds with one stone. I would like that. How about the heat and taste ?

I am planning on growing Fatalii next season. It is on my wish list in the seeds swap.

They taste the same to me... Very hot at least as hot as a hab but not a hab taste. I was wanting the Red pods to use as a main filler for hot sauces. The peppers have a thicker skin that I like and great color, both the Red and yellow were huge producers.

It's funny how Wayne's picture shows a small split in the skin with some blackening starting to form around it. That is common and what I saw on both the yellow and red pods that had ripened and been on the vine for a while... That's a Fatalii for sure IMO....

Sounds like the pepper I like, meaty skin, nice color (both R and Y) and the right amount of heat for me. So I look forward to growing them. I'll ask Johny to send me please both R and Y seeds, if possible.
