Red Fatalii Pepper ?

Hi: I'm back online after almost a 10 year absence! Found something very interesting in my garden today. I've been saving seeds from year to year and have grown (yellow) Fataliis as well as Red Habs. They seem to have crossed. I have a plant that has produced what I can only describe as Red Fatalii peppers. They are about 3" long, and same shape as Yellow Fatalii but about 50% wider, and they ripened to red! I've never had Fataliis do that before. I've also grown Ghost Peppers and Trinidad Scorpion nearby but these Red Fatalii's are smooth skinned (no abrupt bumps, like you would find on Ghost or Scorpion).

Has anyone else observed this sort of cross, or can anyone else explain it? I have not eaten one yet.

Wayne
