Do you have fireants up that way Juanito?

I've had problems with them setting up nests in my pots, even some that are off the ground, and was wondering if any invaded your bags (which I'm planning on using next year).

Also, are you happy with the 5 gallon size?

Did'ja ever consider just cutting larger holes in the bottom so the roots can grow through the 5-1-1? I do it a lot with 5 gal plastic buckets, and the plants seem to get bigger when they're sitting on the ground. Kinda like an individual raised bed.

nah not lots of fireants where i am, really northeast ok.
5 gallon plants were nice(seems like 6ft max), 3 gals weren't bad(seems like 4ft max), i can only wonder what 10 gal woulda looked like!
I didn't go bigger simply because it costs a lot to fill up containers, approx 60cents per gal.

the bags have like 10 holes or so and they were growing into the ground, had to give the bag a few good tugs to pick it up lol.

How often did you run the drip? What size emitter?

every three days for 30 minutes in spring and fall.
everyday for 15 minutes in summer (in afternoon to keep stuff cool).
1 gph drippers(i used pre fit ones, would go with stakes if i could do it over)
