Anyone know the scoville rating of the Purple Flash pepper? I have searched and searched and can't find anything. Only thing I find is several statements, "too hot to eat." Umm, Yeah, sure. ;-)

RE: Purple Flash

Looks like a ornamental. Most likely around the heat of a tobasco. 50,000 just a guess. Not too hot :)

Here is a link that might be useful: purple flash

RE: Purple Flash

Found a site that listed at 30,000 but GW blocked the link when I tried to add the website.

RE: Purple Flash

Thanks guys. Yes romy6 it is an ornamental, I read somewhere they say you can eat it but it's flavor isn't very good. Now they've piqued my interest. ;-)

Dave's says 5000-30000, but they seem to say that about a lot of peppers.

I'm sorry the link was blocked habjolokia, I would have liked to have seen it... Thanks for looking, both of you!

I must admit, it is a gorgeous plant. She grew it this last year and said it bloomed profusely but did not give a single fruit.
