I just posted my previous note because there are a few people that have not posted an update, or replied to my multiple emails followups. Yet I can see they are still actively posting in gardenweb. I just needed to put those people on notice. Every year, there are a couple of people that ignore my emails or posts, then a few weeks after the deadline...they mail the seeds anyway or email me and tell me they're sending the seeds anyway. In otherwords, they're deliberately disregarding what I told them. Very passive aggressive if you ask me. In any event, I'm not holding up the swap for a few unresponsive people and wanted to post notice that their envelopes will be returned to them....so hopefully I don't see this happening again. |

| Ok folks, Time for another bonus offer. This is only for participants of this exchange. Email me (or post here), a list of seeds you are interested in, in order of priority. First come first serve. What you get will be a surprise to you when you get your envelope in the mail. I am also carrying forward a couple of seeds from the prior offer. A friendly reminder that I will be out of town on business Nov 19-21 and I will be unable to reply to email or sort seeds during that time. | Hi everyone, I have one last bonus offer to put forward. I'm going to handle this one differently from the prior two offers. This bonus offer will be left open until midnight November 16th (mountain standard time). Everyone is welcome to reply with a list of seeds they hope for in order of priority. I will be giving priority to individuals that have the least amount of seed packets already set aside for them from prior offers, and on a first come first serve basis to those individuals. In many cases, these would be individuals that were late to respond, but not necessarily. I am not going to be telling people how many packets they already have allocated...you will find out by surprise when you get your envelopes back. I will apply these parameters from behind the scenes so please don't ask me to give you updates. I just don't have time for that. After the deadline, seeds will just be allocated on a first come first serve basis period. You never know who's going to respond or what people want, so if you see something you like, just email me your wish list. You may or may not get something, but it is worth putting your name forward. | WOW is right! I got mine yesterday. What a return on investment! "15 packets sent [+9 bonus], 42 packets received" - all different. Thanks to all the bonus senders, especially smokemaster who was incredibly generous. Hit most of my 15 requests, too (missed Douglah, Bih Jolokia, Aji Dulce, Cili Goronong, and Billy Biker). I especially enjoyed the picture illustrating the baglet of Peter Pepper. :D Heather, I think a couple of these are tomatoes. San Marzano I requested. Seek-No-Further Love Apple and Absinthe tomato too? It's hard to imagine the amount of work involved in pulling this off. Just reading the labels could make a guy cross-eyed. | Something else that is really cool about Heather's swap (and the other round-robins) is that when I'm reading the threads on GW I recognize many names, esp. those who have been around a few years and/or sent me seeds. When I have grown someone's plants, I feel some kind of connection with them. (Hi, Janine!) Some old salts like Smokemaster put their names on every packet they send out. I'm realizing how much I appreciate that, and I'm gonna start doing it. Hope others will too - it makes this chili addiction even more fun. Happy holidays to all. Rick |
