No heat in Chiles grown indoors?

| None of the De arbols or Chimayos I have picked since bringing my plants inside have had any heat whatsoever! The Chimayo don't surprise me as much, but the de arbol? The orange habs still have plenty of kick.
I started these plants in August and they just started developing a few pods before I brought them in back in October. I am guessing/hoping that when they are grown outside next summer they will produce hot pods? I just expected that at least the de arbols would have a little bit of heat. |

| Pepper seeds don't grow true to type unless the grower takes precautions against crossing with milder forms. Where did you get the seeds? If it's from a pepper enthusiast with lots of varieties, you probably have mutts. |

| They were bought from a seed company, the Tabascos and Habaneros were true to type, and the Chimayo and De arbol plants and fruits look right, they just lack heat. |

| There are many posts here on the same subject. This usually happens to the first few peppers. |
