 o
Flying Aphids..

Hello to all pepperLovers..
I'm going out on a limb here and taking the risk of asking a stupid question (after all, that's what forums are for, right?). Every year about this time, when I bring my potted peppers inside to winter over, I notice a lot of gnatLike bugs flying all over my plants.......then shortly thereafter I have all kinds of aphid problems. So, the question is.........do aphids fly? If so, I'm wondering what to do about them (would a fan help keep them off my plants?). Ultimately, I'm using Rotonone with Pyrethrins per the suggestion of a local pepper grower here who sells plants each spring. He said that he automatically starts using the above even before the aphids show up. Any ideas/comments on his suggestion or any other suggestions you might have?
Thanks in advance for all responses...

Aphids do fly.

Here is a link that might be useful: Aphids

But probably what you are seeing are fungus gnats.

I'm guessing fungus gnats, too.

Aphids will trash your plant if left untreated, fungus gnats won't.
