I guess it depends on where you get them from.

But I did notice in researching this they often talk about "crossed" when mentioning the red version. One even said the seeds were not stable and you could get yellow or even orange,

Because I am planning to grow Fatalii next year, I am interested to know a little bit about them.

My internet search if the images show that FATALII is much wider at the stem end and taper off quite a bit. Both yello and red have similar shapes

I was thinking about this last night too, where I got them, and also reading the other thread on Red Fatilli smooth.

These seeds were from Hell hot seeds as a freebe. So now I'm thinking they are Fatalii. Red or Yellow not sure yet.

My first yellow fatalii bush (big bush!), the pods were a little smaller and fairly smooth, otherwise a similar shape. (They were from the Bonnie Plants supplier error, so should have been pure seed.) They resembled the internet pics of fatalii at the time.

The red fatalii (smaller bushes) that I grew last year was larger and kinda bumpy, though not as gnarly as pictured above. Their seeds had a tendency to revert to yellow (otherwise same phenotype) so might not have been pure.

IMO the pictures above are of crosses that are still around because they resemble other desirable varieties.
