Hello all, I hope these are not too many pics. I am harvesting my BJ crop this week. I picked about a quarter of them today and decided to take some pics to share. Hope you enjoy.

That's the most peppers I've seen on a plant. How are you going
to use them? Looks very nice.

Awesome! So your overwintering the plants then??

Do you have any issues with pests that are brought in from the outside, and how do you control them if so??

Thanks guys. Roper2008 - most of the plants in the pic are 3 years old and produced prodigiously. I am going to make pepper sauce with them. Ozzz, they are overwintered yes, I collect ladybugs and they take care of everything. They have been inside for nearly a month and no sign of any pests.

Absolutely a thing of beauty Ravi!

Wonderful Greens & Reds. Think they can make it to the Holidays? If so, that would be a unique decoration lol.

Is that a Bhut in the first picture at the bottom center? Pods look a little different. It doesn't really matter, it's all good ;^)

Great job.

Also, Im curious how many bhuts you have there? Looks like three or four and then the hanging one??

Fantastic looking plants for sure!!

Awesome looking peppers! I'm jealous! It'd be pretty awesome if you shared some of your overwintering experience with us less experienced pepperheads.

Are the florescent lights you have hanging there the only light the plants get?
Do the plants produce over the winter, or do you just keep them dormant?
How often do you water, and what do you feed them?

OK RAVI,

Now I’m really ticked. You got me again! First it was tasting Bhuts and now:

Earlier this evening I got home and changed into some track pants because I promised a neighbour I’d help him move a freezer.

Before heading over to the neighbours I check out recent posts on GW.

While viewing shots of your Bhuts I got an itch on the inside of my left thigh (you know, the kind of itch you can’t scratch through pants).

While viewing your plants I stuck my hand down my pants to get nails into my scratch and my GF walks around the corner.

Needless to say she saw me vigorously moving my hand in my pants while looking at pictures on the net… what do you think that looked like RAVI???????????

I got a disgusted look and she walked away calling me a pervert. The more I tried to explain the more it sounded like I was guilty!

Fine I though, it will pass. I helped the neighbour move his freezer. When I got home the computer keyboard was gooey from being sanitized with hand sanitizer. The keyboard was fried.

I just got back from Best Buy with a new keyboard.

RAVI, you owe me $59.99 + GST and PST.

Bill

ps. If the GF throws me out, I’m moving in with you!

The real question is:

"Were your eyes closed?"

Sorry Bill, I couldn't resist! lol

Are the florescent lights you have hanging there the only light the plants get? YES.
Do the plants produce over the winter, or do you just keep them dormant? I HAVE DONE BOTH. THREE SONS ARE KEEPING ME TOO BUSY TO DO IT THIS YEAR BUT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR SURE.
How often do you water, and what do you feed them? I HAVE FOUND THAT BJ MORESO THAN OTHER PEPPERS REQUIRE FREQUENT WATERING - EVERY FEW DAYS. I EXPERIMENTED THIS SUMMER WITH FERTILIZER, NO FERTILIZER AND A COMBINATION FISH EMULSION/SEAWEED EXTRACT - THE WINNER HANDS DOWN WAS FE/SE. I WISH I WAS MORE COMPUTER LITERATE TO COPY IT - I DID A WHOLE THREAD ON THE EXPERIMENT SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEARCH FOR IT.

HOPE THIS HELPS GUYS, SORRY FOR THE LATE RESPONSE - I'M NOT ON THE COMPUTER TOO OFTEN.

RE: Time to harvest some Bhut Jolokia (pics)

hello ravi,

i just want to start raise Bhut Jolokia, do you keep your plant indoor? if yes, how you make those chilli pollinating?

 o
RE: Time to harvest some Bhut Jolokia (pics)

Very sorry for the response Tony, I am rarely on the computer these days. I have a small oscillating fan running daily and that takes care of the pollination. The plants are indoors for the winter yes.

Hope this helps.

Ravi
