I've never tried a Butch, but I imagine the flavor much like other chinense varieties.

So, in your case...yes, you're crazy. :)

In my experience, I find chinense varieties to be either citrusy or berry tasting. I've never made that correlation when eating any colored Bell. I've only tried about a half dozen different varieties of chinense though. So, maybe others have experienced what you did.

My wish --- for somebody to develop a red bell variety that puts out the number of pods a chinense does. ;)

Bruce. Nah. You couldn't use them fast enough unless you were cooking for hundreds of people. A few chinense plants provides the normal heatseeker all the fire he/she needs throughout the season. With my bells, I end up having a couple of flushes that inundate me. If I had ONE red bell that produced like a Naga throughout the season, life would be easier... :)
