Well, temperature aside, it is late in the year. Plants are sensitive to length of day, so yours may have gone into the frantic winter mode. For instance, St. Peter is producing pods like crazy, but most of the new ones are an inch long. Just that time of year.

BTW, despite two cold spells with temps down to 21F, I have yet to lose a plant (though I couldn't swear that the Koreans won't bite it soon.)

And I agree, you're lookin' at "winterpods." They tend to be smoother...and typically smaller.

You sure those are lacewing eggs? Kinda look like aphid sheds.

Aphid = bad bug
Lacewing = good bug

If they are lacewings, I sure wouldn't be spraying them.

I'm not a bug expert, but I've seen a few aphids in my day, and a few lacewing eggs. the seed at the end of a stalk as I understand it is definitely lacewing.

so it's normal to see this in winter huh? my other brain plants are producing pods that aren't as wrinkly as they were in previous flushes, but aren't nearly this smooth. it's a shame they'll be less hot though, I'm just now getting accustomed to the burn.

Wouldn't say they'll be any less hot. As my late season Brains seemed to be quiet hotter. Than the ones threw the regular season. JMHO tho.
