I've grown orange habs for nearly ten year. They are a very prolific producer. As for taste it has a fruity taste that goes well with mango. I'd also suggest that you try the aji lemon variety.

The best producer hab I have ever had is the mustard. They are always covered in fruit and they set fruit fast. One year I forgot to bag the flowers and it was covered in fruit so I picked them all, it was covered again in no time.

The best Plant I had was the Jamaican Yellow Mushroom. Very easy to grow and tons of pods. Some grow huge. Almost every flower produced fruit. The fruit is not super hot, but it has a nice smokey habanero taste. A nice hardy plant and seems to overwinter well (so far so good).

Jerry, I would definitely consider the Paper Lantern Habanero. It doesn't have that "taste" you've heard about. It's prolific and early for a chinense. Great flavor and good habanero heat.

This is a must grow for me. It is the foundation pepper for many of my ferments, powders, jellies, etc.
