Been reading and ran across a couple interesting plants for the South to pass along as potential green manures / fodders. They are banana trees and mimosa! The bananas are my own idea ;o) I know banana grow massive down here so think of all of the potential for sheet mulch/green manures. Mimosa, I've read, are very good fodder for animals. Use in a coppice as part of an alley planting or any other designs like the horseshoe shapes but again coppice them for the most leaf formation. The mimosa are also good at bringing up minerals and with the tiny leaves mulch compost fast so are a good green manure.
