Looking for advice when it comes to pursuing permaculture

Hi my name is Andrew. I graduated a few years ago with an accounting degree and I'm sure that unfortunately it is not for me. I have become really passionate about plants in the meantime and I'm very interested in permaculture. I enjoy reading and learning about it, and I'd love to pursue it more. I'm going to North Carolina this fall for 2 months to work on an organic solar powered farm, and hopefully learn a thing or two about permaculture (although it is not their sole focus).

I have a few questions, to whom this may concern:

I'm assuming the best way to learn would be to either attend a Permaculture Design Course or work on a farm that practices permaculture. If that is the case, where do I go?

How practical is it to make a decent living by only growing my own produce? How much land would I need to have? Where could I do it? (I'd imagine there are certain places in the country where there are people I can learn from, work with, etc)

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

-Andrew
