Permaculture books you have read?

What permaculture books have you read? Which ones do you recommend, and why? Or, ones you don't recommend? Or any other books that you like that are sort of on the subject, even!

I just bought Gaia's Garden at the Small Farm Show; and just a brief glance through it told me that I've been practicing some permaculture without even knowing it! Neat!!

Mollison's Permaculture designer manual is my favorite.

That one is on my list to read, Lee - just as soon as I can get my hands on a copy! My (little bitty small town) library can't seem to locate it; so I've given the ISBN # along with all pertinent info to my daughter so that she can try to order it from the library where she goes to college. I've found several sites where I could place an order, but it's being reprinted, so they can't promise delivery anytime soon. Sigh. Guess I'll just keep stumbling along.

Does anyone subscribe to any permaculture magazines? The only one I could find online comes from the UK - I wondered if the info would be adaptable to the midwest US?

Amazon used books has them but they are horribly expensive. I paid 60 for mine, but it was still in print then. Prices used range from 169 to over 300! See link below. There is also a Permaculture Introduction by Mollison and it is paperback and not so expensive.

OUCH!! I don't want to read it that bad! Guess I'll keep trying the library. Half.com has the Intro to Permaculture (couldn't get it to come up on Amazon?!) for $20; that's well within my budget so I may go that way unless the college calls to tell me that they have it in. Thanks for letting me know!
