Is this Anthracnose or other spot disease

| Hello, need help identifying what is killing my ornamental pear, and whether there is any treatment that will work. Here are pics of the leaves. This has happened several times, in fact, it is now basically continuous. I treat it with a systemic. It works for a month, then the disease returns. I've sprayed the tree all over, and done the soil drenching, and it still returns. Thanks in advance for your assistance. When I read about Anthracnose, it doesn't really sound exactly like the problem we are having, but I can't figure out what it is. |

| I should have mentioned that this is on an ornamental pear tree that is maybe 10 years old. It is some sort of weeping pear. |

swngdncr, I think not. Check out this link for photographs of anthracnose on the leaves of some trees. |

The first thought when viewing your picture was not anthracnose but APPLE scab, so I googled PEAR scab. There are a couple of scab diseases that affect pear, but on the east coast the main culprit is Venturia pyrina. You might compare to that and check with your extension service to see if it is a problem in your area. hortster |
