Found little yellow eggs under my dirt......

I found these little yellow eggs about 2-3" under my soil. They were all attached by a thin string that reminded me of those jelly hands that stick to to the wall.

The eggs are about the size of little BB pellets. They are pictured here on the end of a 4x4. The thing that is holding them up is a plant marker.

Here are the pictures:

If you click on the pictures, you can see their full size with the grains of sand attached. This is what I get for not touching it for a season.

Actually, I just read something that says they are earthworm eggs....guess I'll put them back in the soil. The lizards were eyeing them earlier. Anyone know if these really are earthworm eggs?

Sorry to burst your bubble. But earthworms don't handle their eggs in that fashion. Much more likely to be slug eggs.

If you still have them, put a small amount of moist soil in a clear container which has a lid, add the eggs, also the cover, then set it somewhere you'll see it everyday. Wait until something develops inside the eggs and hatches.

Then come back to tell us what you have. Also, please post new images of the hatchlings.
